As Lead Designer at The New York Public Library, I was tasked to refresh the brand for LIVE from NYPL, our offerings of public programs. My intention was to take an already strong identity and visually liven it up with color. The system does not restrict designers to a set palette. Every color imaginable is at play, as long as it creates a cohesive set of graphics per event. The refresh also coincided with a return to in-person events after a long pandemic hiatus. We wanted to offer a warm celebratory welcome to visitors eager to gather together again.
